Responsibilities:
1. Must follow district and state curricula and assessment requirements
2. Must have satisfactory rating in most recent performance evaluation (formal or informal)
3. Knowledge of current curriculum trends and ability to write and develop new curricular direction in Input/participation in building and district committee structure to develop new curricular guidelines for all ages
4. Commitment to work effectively with fellow staff members
5. Recent teaching experience desirable
6. Knowledge of technology as instruction tools or willingness to become knowledgeable through independent training as soon as possible and commitment to use same regularly to enhance instruction effectiveness
7. Knowledge of, and ability to implement cooperative learning strategies and differentiated instruction on a regular basis
8. Knowledge of an ability to implement higher order thinking skill development on a regular basis
9. Knowledge of and ability to regularly use the writing process and expository writing to enhance teaching and learning
10. Desire to develop an interdisciplinary approach to delivering instructional outcomes
11. Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, administrative guidelines, and building regulations
12. Willingness to perform other duties as necessary and/or directed by the principal and/or special education administrator
13. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
14. Understanding of how to use formative, summative, and interim assessment data to inform daily instruction.
15. Ability to create classroom assessments that effectively measure student proficiency
16. Help individual students who are behind or struggling to learn content.
17. Communication with students and parents regarding student progress and/or needs.
18. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
19. Collaborate with other Teachers to develop lesson plans and improve the overall learning process.
20. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
21. Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and are in line with State of Michigan objectives and school-wide curriculum goals.
