Audio- Visual Production Teacher

Job Description

The Audio-Visual Teacher, under the supervision of the Principal, shall be responsible for teaching students the fundamentals of audio, video, technology, and film including the applications and techniques commonly used in the industry. Instructs students using effective instructional strategies such as group discussions, cooperative learning, projects, and problem-based learning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in photography, media production, visual arts, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience as an Audio-Visual Production Teacher.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and repair AV equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teaches students the fundamentals of Audio, Video, Technology & Film including the applications and techniques commonly used in the industry.
  2. Instructs students using effective instructional strategies such as group discussions, cooperative learning, projects, and problem-based learning.
  3. Examines careers in Audio, Video, Technology & Film and effectively guides students through industry career exploration.
  4. Prepares challenging and engaging lessons for a balanced program of instruction, demonstrations, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
  5. Prepares, administers, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate students’ progress.
  6. Enhances course content in the form of remediation, modification, and enrichment.
  7. Analyze data to improve instruction and models’ instructional strategies to promote student achievement.
  8. Effectively manages the learning environment, so that it is conducive to learning.
  9. Assist with student management throughout the building, grounds, and/or other district facilities.
  10. Effectively communicates with students, parents, and other stakeholders via verbal or written communication.
  11. Assist in various school activities as needed.

Working Conditions

Maintain emotional control under stress. Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing, and occasionally climbing. Move small stacks of textbooks, technology/media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
