Head Bowling Coach - High School

Position Summary

The Head Bowling Coach is responsible for developing and leading a competitive bowling program while teaching fundamentals,

discipline, lane etiquette, sportsmanship, and pride in Muskegon Heights Academy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct practices emphasizing proper bowling fundamentals and skill development.

• Teach lane etiquette, scoring, spare shooting, lane adjustments, competition strategy, and sportsmanship.

• Organize lineups, match strategy, and student-athlete development plans.

• Coordinate practice times, competition schedules, transportation needs, and facility communication with the Athletic Director.

• Recruit student-athletes and promote participation in the bowling program.

• Monitor academic eligibility, attendance, and student-athlete conduct.

• Maintain proper supervision during practices, competitions, travel, and team activities.

• Maintain equipment, uniforms, and program inventory.

• Communicate effectively with parents, athletes, administration, and the Athletic Director.

• Promote discipline, accountability, sportsmanship, and program pride.

Qualifications

• Bowling coaching or competitive bowling experience preferred.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to teach fundamentals and manage student-athlete development.

• CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.

• Completion of all required MHSAA and district coaching requirements.

• Successful completion of required background checks.
