Middle School Football Coach

Position Summary

The Middle School Football Coach is responsible for building a positive, disciplined, and development-focused football program

that prepares student-athletes for success at the high school level while promoting academic achievement, character, safety,

and sportsmanship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct safe, structured, and effective daily practices.

• Teach football fundamentals, techniques, position skills, and game strategy.

• Develop players according to the Muskegon Heights football philosophy and feeder program expectations.

• Promote academic success, positive behavior, and school attendance.

• Monitor student eligibility and communicate concerns to the Athletic Director.

• Maintain proper supervision of student-athletes before, during, and after practices, games, and team activities.

• Ensure proper care, inventory, and security of equipment, uniforms, and facilities.

• Communicate effectively with parents, athletes, administration, and the Athletic Director.

• Model professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship at all times.

• Assist in promoting the football program and increasing student participation.

Qualifications

• Previous football coaching or playing experience preferred.

• Strong ability to teach fundamentals and work with middle school student-athletes.

• CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.

• Completion of all required MHSAA and district coaching requirements.

• Successful completion of required background checks.

• Represent Muskegon Heights Academy with pride and professionalism.
